Vegan, Plant Based Diet, Stop The Noise. Stand strong.

The world is not vegan so there is going to be a lot of push-back, still 7 years later I am still seeing disbelief in people’s eyes. I wish people did a little more research and not to just listen to the news stories about unhealthy vegans but to look at the stories and to meet people who are healthy vegans. I will note that a lot of people will fight your choice to go on an all plant diet. I am separating the diet here from vegan because vegan focuses on animal issues and carries a more political agenda, which I will not discuss in this blog post.


I remember when I made the dietary switch my mother pushed far into my head about a protein deficiency. Yet respectfully she never took nutrition and became a mother who raised us on a western diet of meat, some veggies and potato. I on the other hand had spent years prior reading everything I could get my hands on nutrition. I had no vegan friends or vegan family members. I just did my research. The more I learned about diet the more I saw animal foods were causing more harm than any good and that plant foods were extremely, protective.


The pressure I got was intense. Friends, coworkers and other adults were pressuring me or ridiculing me to go back to eating meat. I even had a massive online debate with a group of fitness trainers at the gym at train at. I saw my friends and their family members younger than me get bellies and I remained in excellent health and continued to hold my six pack abs.


I have been following the research for now over eight years. I still keep track of the studies released and try to weed through the industry published studies.

When it comes to your health you cannot listen to the mainstream nonsense. Follow your heart and your intuition and hopefully it will lead you down the right path. Don’t let the pressure get to you. Stand up for yourself.

Vegetarians also appear to have lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, and lower rates of hypertension and type 2 diabetes than nonvegetarians.
